Week 12 Cool Tool: Socrative

This week I chose Socrative. It is a formative assessment technology. It is a great assessment tool! The teacher can let students visit www. socrative.com or open Socrative App. Login to their student's accounts and enter unique access code which teacher will write on the board.

Socrative can immediately show to the teacher about each student and each question correct data analyses. Teacher click on the questions field and can see the details view of each topic on the teacher's account. The teacher can know whether students comprehend the topics about the text or not. What is the weakness or advantage of students learning? After the formative assessment, the teacher can know what should do the next class. Go over the text some key points or moving students forward.

This Socrative can add different types of question to a quiz. Multiple choices, True/ False, Short answer. It also can add an image to the question. The teacher can choose quiz type. Students can receive right/wrong feedback and get explanations immediately after they answer each question. It will promote learning and comprehension.

When students finish the quiz and select “exit ticket.” They will finish a survey which teacher pre-set about this formative assessment. The teacher would let them answers like “ how well did you understand today’s material? Choose one answer from Totally got it, Pretty well, Not very well, Not at all. The question can measure who need additional help. The teacher also can see every student every item percent correct scores on the screen. From these answer date, Teacher would give some students addition individual help or teach.

Socrative give the analyzing details date about every student and every item immediately. Students can get the correct answer with explanation immediately. These criteria clear on the everyone’s screen let them analyzing by themselves first. Some students can rethink deeply about the reason. This date feedback is powerful to guide them to make efforts in the right direction. Also, the quiz on the Socrative teacher can share with other teachers. Collaboration can get more learning information and experience.
