Learning spaces should be designed around how student learning styles. We need to consider the different learning forms. There is four learning form named campfires, watering holes, caves, and the world. They match four different angles of education: 1. Lecture; 2. discussion; 3. Reflective journal, Learner writing something of their own project, essay according to for their own purposes; 4. practice and how to use in the real world, how to apply knowledge to solve real-world problems. We can blend them use in both the traditional and online classroom; especially we can explore use in digital learning spaces.
Leaning spaces also connect learning content and student passion, address their learning skills. We create digital learning spaces can go beyond the physical learning space such as the traditional physical classroom. Students choose what they interested based on the themes. Students can move on their own paces and flexible learning speed. Access to powerful 24/7 learning devices and connect anywhere in the world collaboration with peers, teachers experts. Get their learning experiences.
As a teacher, how to support students collaboration in online digital learning? The teachers need to guide them access to massive online knowledge and information. The teacher would be the coach, advisor, and instructional support. Communicate with students; help students to get them virtual experience; promote movement/activities; balance human interaction and technology. Education means life-long learning, students finally will step by step take their ownership of knowledge and culture. Not only Individualized but also Interconnected collaboration. This would be the successful learning environments.
