Week 9 Tool: ClassDojo

I know this cool tool from my classmate with the excellent comment. I learn it in www.classdojo.com. Class Dojo advocate Happier Classrooms. We can sign up as a Teacher, Student, Parent, school Leader. ClassDojo concatenates teachers, students and parents to build concerned classroom communities. Teachers can encourage students and sharing photos, videos of wonderful classroom moments with parents on Class Story, or privately message with parents and students.

Students can display and share their learning by adding photos and videos to their own portfolios. Parents easily join the class using any device. ClassDojo can instantly translate messages into 30+ languages.

The Toolkit of the ClassDojo is useful to manage the classroom in details. The “Directions” can easily display classroom directions, so students always know what they should be working step by step. “Classroom Music” provides the perfect soundtrack for any activity. Play classroom songs can make free time a little more fun. “Group Maker” can arrange students into a random group: pairs, threes, fours, or more. “Noise Meter” is a noise level meter which shows students the classroom noise visualized that remind the appropriate volume and encourage them to self-manage. “Think Pair Share” can have student share with a partner. The teacher poses a question; student pairs can collaborate to solve harder problems, have 1-1 discussions, and work on their teamwork. Using “Random”— student picker during a lesson or when you need a “volunteer.” The students will see who has been randomly selected, and you get to keep your students alert. An online “Timer” that lets students know how much time they have left. Whether for transitions, centers, or something else, this classroom timer keeps things moving. “Today” can display daily announcements, a welcome message, or morning work to get everyone prepared for the day and excited.
